Consulting Calls ($20 for 20 minutes, up to 90 minutes per session)

Query Letter Help ($100) 

What’s in a query letter?

Whether you’re submitting your manuscript to agents for the first time or you’re looking to fine-tune your submission package, this can be a daunting process. I can help with the process from start to finish, from brainstorming to rough draft to a query letter you’re ready to send out into the world.

Synopsis Development ($200)

So you’ve written your novel—but how do you describe it in a page or two?

Have an outline but don’t know how to turn it into a synopsis? I can help you brainstorm, focus your ideas and put together an efficient synopsis for your submission package.

Submission Package ($350)

The querying process can be quite challenging, whether you’re just getting started or you’ve been in the game for awhile. In this package, I’ll read and provide feedback for your query letter, synopsis, and the first 30 pages of your manuscript. If you only have your manuscript, I can work with you on developing a query letter and a synopsis as well! Let’s get you ready to submit!


Includes up to 4 reads on your query letter, two month’s worth of email consulting, reading outlines and development help on your synopsis

Beta Reads

I am open to reading your manuscript and providing feedback specifically to improve the literary quality of your work by identifying and providing notes on specific elements to avoid stereotypes, cliches, and other possible problematic themes. Please note I may recommend a separate authenticity reader if I am unable to advise on particular elements.

  • $400 for 50k- 75k manuscript
  • $500 for 75k- 100k
  • Additional $0.010/word for any manuscript longer than 100k
  • Includes an edit letter (1-2 pages) that will include my insights and any feedback or concerns
  • Comments within the manuscript via Word comments and track changes

Developmental Editing 

  • Big Picture Package
    • $500 for 50k- 75k manuscript
    • $600 for 75k- 100k manuscript
    • Additional $0.010/word for any manuscript longer than 100k
    • Includes an edit letter (1-2 pages) that will include my insights ith regards to the plot and overall story development, point of view, character arcs, dialogue and any feedback or concerns
    • A few examples within the manuscript via Word comments and track changes
  • All-In Beta Reader Package
    • $450 for 50k- 75k manuscript
    • $600 for 75k- 100k
    • Additional $0.010/word for any manuscript longer than 100k
    • Includes an edit letter (2-3 pages) that will include my thoughts with regards to the plot and overall story development, point of view, character arcs, dialogue as well as other insights, feedback and concerns
    • Includes comments, suggestions for edits as necessary within the manuscript via track changes
    • Includes one 20 minute Skype call

Payment accepted via Paypal or Venmo. 50% deposit required at the time of booking. Remainder of the fee due upon my receipt of manuscript.

Formatting Requirements

  • Size 12 Times New Roman Font
  • Double-spaced
  • Include a header that includes your name and a page number
  • .doc or docx format, ideal for Microsoft Word
  • Please name your documents with the following: the date of draft, your name, and the title. Examples:

    • 2018_03_28_Johnson_TheWayWeEat
    • 2018_05_23_Johnson_TheWayWeEat_Synopsis
